Common affiliate questions
How long is the cookie?
60 days. If someone clicks your link and subscribes within 60 days, you get credit for the entire life of that account — even if they unsubscribe and resubscribe years later (we use account email + payment method matching, not just cookies).
What if someone uses a coupon code from another affiliate later?
First-touch attribution wins. The cookie / account match locks credit to you. Coupon codes apply discounts but don't change attribution — unlike most affiliate programs, we don't penalize you for the customer hunting for a promo later.
How do payouts work?
Monthly on the 15th. We pay PayPal, Stripe Connect, or US ACH for free; international wires are paid net of fees. Minimum $50 — anything under rolls to the next month. Real-time dashboard shows pending, paid, and lifetime totals.
Can I run paid ads to my affiliate link?
Yes, with two rules. (1) No bidding on "CardPrepAI" or close brand variants in search. (2) No misleading creative (fake reviews, deceptive headlines, scarcity timers, etc.). Anything else is fair game — YouTube ads, Meta, Reddit, Twitter, native ads, content marketing, podcast pre-rolls, all welcome.
Do my referrals get a discount?
Optional. You can issue a 10%-off-first-3-months coupon to your audience — it's auto-applied via your link. This reduces your first-month commission proportionally but doesn't touch the recurring 30%. Most creators see this converts 2–3× better.
What if a customer charges back or refunds?
Commission is reversed for that month only. We don't claw back prior months. Refund-rate has historically been <0.4% — we'd rather eat a refund than have an angry customer.
Can I be both an affiliate and a CardPrepAI customer?
Yes — and most of our best affiliates are. You can't self-refer (referring your own account), but you can use the tool yourself, build content around your results, and refer everyone else.
Who shouldn't apply?
If your audience isn't hobby-relevant (no overlap with card collectors, sports fans, TCG players, breakers), the math won't work for you and we'll politely decline. We'd rather have 200 passionate hobby creators than 2,000 generic affiliates.
